An Introduction to Music Technology

If technology is anything that uses science to achieve a desired result, then music technology must be a term that refers to all forms of technology involved with the musical arts.  In our classroom we use electronic devices, and computers together to create multitrack recordings, compose music, save music, and perform on the keyboards.  As the instructor of this course, I approach the subject from three different angles, they are:  music theory, music technology, and keyboard skills.  You will leave our classroom with an understanding of MIDI, Logic express 8, GarageBand, and some basic music composition skills.  Ask any student who has taken the course what they thought about it, and they will tell you just how much fun we had during the process.  Take a look around this site to see, and listen to some of the great work/students that have come out of our music technology lab.
