GREAT NECK SOUTH HIGH BAND PROGRAM
The Band program consists of a Symphonic Band (grades 9-12), Wind Ensemble (selected primarily grades 10-12), Jazz Combo, Jazz Band, Marching Band and Chamber Music program. Our bands perform at the Winter and Spring Concerts, Winter daytime school assembly, Great Neck Memorial Day Parade and at the Tilles Center for graduation. Members of our band program also participate in our chamber orchestra, symphony orchestra, opera and musical pit orchestra and our acclaimed chamber music society. Our Band program provides community service throughout the school year. Many of our students participate in the NYSSMA Solo Music Festival each Spring. From this festival, our students are selected each year to the NYSBDA (New York State Band Director's Association) Honor's Band, All-County, All-State, All-Eastern and All-National.
